Our Mission: To enhance the competence and professionalism of legal services management provided by individuals of our association within the legal community of British Columbia.
We are a non-profit organization with more than 475 affiliates representing more than 168 member firms. Our member firms are predominantly located in the Metro Vancouver area, but also reach as far as Prince George, the interior and Vancouver Island. More than 80 percent of our members work in small law firms of 15 lawyers or less.
The BCLMA is focused on providing you with the professional development, support and networking opportunities you need to enjoy and advance your career in legal management.
We know that success is rarely achieved alone. We create comfortable opportunities to ask questions, make enquires, identify professional landmines, share war stories and connect with respected like-minded colleagues. At BCLMA, you are supported.

How? We offer monthly subsection meetings, social events, online member-only discussions, TOPICS, our quarterly newsletter, and mentorship.
We also sponsor educational seminars, speakers, conferences and social events. Our well-attended biennial BCLMA Educational Conference is not to be missed. This conference, and our various social events, provides networking opportunities for members where you can develop professional contacts with other law firm management professionals, and visit among like-minded colleagues.
Through our interactive member-only discussion forums on this website, you can ask questions and share valuable information with experienced colleagues enabling you to instantly draw on a vast technical and law-office management knowledge base.
Equally important, the BCLMA mentorship program provides one-on-one guidance for members who may face professional or workplace challenges, or a new opportunity for growth and development. Members can communicate with experienced and well-respected senior law-office management professionals to gather ideas and develop strategies to address their issues.
BCLMA also produces nine critical surveys each year ranging from law firm economic analysis to staff ratios, staff/management compensation and salary information. These survey results are eagerly anticipated by our professional community as they have become essential tools for law-office managers for business planning and budget development.
