Current Position Available: Case Manager – Motor Vehicle Accident Group

Job duties:
• Initial assessment of file
• Coordination of Part 7/accident benefits
• Gathering required information and documentation from client
• Requesting supporting documentation from the appropriate institutions and record holders
• Managing file progression
• Communicating with client, including providing regular status updates
• Corresponding with doctors, other healthcare practitioners, adjusters, and defence counsel
• Responding to requests from adjusters and/or defence counsel
• Overseeing document production/exchange
• Preparing file for Examination for Discovery and Trial
• Preparing file for settlement and drafting settlement proposals
• Monitoring settlement negotiations
• Overseeing all post-settlement, post-trial, and/or file closing tasks

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Paralegal designation, or equivalent work experience, including experience working as a motor vehicle claims adjuster
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a plaintiff personal injury or defence practice
• Computer knowledge including: MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, Internet, Case Management Software
• Superior organizational/document management skills with a strong attention to detail
• Fact investigation, analysis and problem solving abilities
• Research and legal analysis skills
• Ability to manage work responsibilities in an unstructured environment
• Independent with the ability to confidently make judgement calls and recommendations
• Ability to prioritize job tasks and execute deliverables in a timely manner
• Excellent interpersonal skills including telephone etiquette
• Sound business judgment including the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
• Professional temperament, including the ability to remain calm under difficult circumstances
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
