Employment Law Update

We would like to invite you to attend our November 18, 2020 sub-section meeting, which will be our annual Employment Law Update. Our guest speaker, Nicole Howell, partner at HHBG Lawyers, a boutique employment firm, will touch on current topics that are of interest in the employment law realm. Nicole is one of the founding partners of HHBG lawyers. Her practice covers all matters arising prior to, during, or after employment. This includes employment contract review, termination, negotiating severance packages, constructive dismissal, allegations of cause, worker status (ie. employee vs. independent contractor), and non-competition or non-solicitation agreements.
Nicole will be sharing the following:
- ESA amendments (in response to Covid)
- Managing Work Refusals (re Covid)
- Potential Claims (e.g. forced temp lay offs, frustration, notice period)
- Important employment cases of 2020
This meeting will be held virtually via Zoom. You can expect the link to be provided 3 – 5 days before the event.
We ask the you kindly register by using the calendar of events page on the BCLMA website by November 13, 2020. This subsection event is free of cost to all BCLMA members and to non-members from member firms.
