Federation of Law Societies of Canada Model Rule Changes
In conjunction with the law societies of Canada, the Federation of Law Societies of Canada (FLSC) drafted model anti-money laundering rules in 2004 and 2008. Almost immediately, the rules were adopted by the Law Society of BC.
In October 2018 the FLSC published modifications to those rules. These changes are being reviewed by the Law Society of BC. Once this process is complete, they should be incorporated into the Law Society of BC Rules.
The result of these rule changes could be non-compliance. Join us for this chair-led review and discussion to found out what the model rule changes are and how they could impact current law firm policies and procedures.
Cheques for $55.76 (including $2.66 GST) may be made payable to Barwest Office Services and may be brought to the meeting or mailed to: Attention: Pelar Davidson 480 - 601 West Cordova Street Vancouver, BC V6B 1G1
