Please join us in welcoming a familiar face, former BCLMA HR sub-section co-chair, Megan McAllister, for a discussion on Self Care & Resiliency Strategies for the 2020 Workplace HeRoes.

To say it has been a challenging time to work in Human Resources is an understatement.  There has never been more pressure, spotlight or demands – from making difficult business decisions, to the responsibility of creating safe workspaces to holding space and time to deal with the difficult emotions of others.

Yet, we all know the advice, in order to help anyone else, we must first put on our own oxygen mask.  Why is self-care and resilience so important and how do we actually achieve it?  Megan will guide us through this discussion, drawing on her own insights and lessons learned through the pandemic and her journey with breast cancer.  Hint, we won’t be talking about manicures or bubble baths (although those are highly recommended too).

Megan McAllister is the Owner and Senior Human Resources & Leadership Consultant at Megan McAllister Human Resources and Leadership Consulting | Vancouver, which provides HR and leadership solutions to busy business owners, executive teams and HR departments.  With her combined senior corporate HR experience and a passion for mental health awareness and mindfulness for leadership and life, Megan is on a mission to create a ripple effect of better workplaces and happier people.
