What you can expect:

We currently have an opening in our Langley office for an Intermediate Litigation Paralegal with a specialized focus in both family law and general litigation. This role requires an individual who is organized, effective at multi-tasking and detail oriented, with strong communication and people skills. Depending on experience and knowledge, the core responsibilities of the role will be, but not limited to:

  • Organization and management of files
  • Drafting court documents and file related correspondence
  • Completing Trial preparation
  • Drafting Pleadings, Applications, Affidavits, Orders and Discovery Demands
  • Conducting research of case law, records, court files and other legal documents
  • Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, etc.
  • Reviewing and summarizing financial documents
  • Drafting Financial Statements

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum 3 years’ of experience as a Paralegal in a busy litigation practice – as 50% of the role will be in family law, the successful candidate must have at least 2 years’ experience as a Paralegal in family law
  • A Paralegal Certificate or Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Understanding of the legal process and the Rules of Court
  • Proficient with MS Word, Outlook, BC Online, Divorcemate and Excel
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle a high volume of work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work in independently and in a team environment
