We have not dealt with this, but our policy is that ‘Cash must be returned to a client if 1) cash was received from the client and 2) a refund of more than $1,000 is to be made. A lawyer must physically go to the financial institution to make the cash withdrawal (DO NOT USE A TRUST CHEQUE).’
The tricky part will be having a lawyer/signing officer on the trust account go to the bank to do the withdrawal from the trust account.
