Owen Bird Law Corporation is a downtown, full-service, mid-sized law firm committed to providing exceptional service and outstanding results for our clients.

We are currently looking for an intermediate legal administrative assistant to work in our litigation department. The practice area for the two lawyers you would be working with is predominately family law, with some general commercial litigation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, adaptable and excels at building and maintaining strong client relationships.

In this role your responsibilities will include:

• Organize and maintain client files, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
• Maintain lawyer’s calendars and bring forward system for limitation and follow-up dates.
• Assist in the preparation and coordination of court filings and legal submissions.
• Schedule meetings, client consultations, and court appearances.
• Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
• Act as the first point of contact for clients.
• Preparation of bills, month end accounting; account payment follow up.

Here is what you bring to the team:

• Five (5) to ten (10) years of relevant work experience as a legal administrative assistant in a general litigation law practice or family law practice.
• Graduation from a legal administrative assistant program.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage client relations with professionalism, clarity and empathy.
• Strong organizational skills, proactive approach and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 applications and PDF software.
• Proficient with BC Online, and other online platforms.
• Proficiency in Korean language is an asset.

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 and is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including an RRSP Matching Program.
