Reporting to the Manager, Business Development, this role is responsible for supporting the members and activities of the firm-wide Business Development (BD) Team. The Business Development Coordinator will be supporting and managing projects related to the firm-wide practice and industry groups.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Assisting in production of pitches, proposals and requested marketing materials.
- Conducting research of prospective targets, industries, markets, competition and conflicts via firm-wide resources, online databases, and librarian searches.
- Coordinating, planning and implementing of internal and external client seminars, events and programs, including invitation design, guest lists, event logistics, ads and materials, on-site supervision and follow-up.
- Tracking cases and client relationships, including use of the firm's experience and contact management databases.
- Assisting with special projects related to the overall improvement of BD operations & Management including creating custom templates for the collection, tracking and utilization of internal BD activities and knowledge.
- Analyse business and/or trade organizations and associations to assess relevance of membership and business development. Coordination of Industry Practice Group (IPG) membership/renewals in various trade and related organizations.
- Maintaining and updating departmental reports and project tracking systems using CRM system, Excel and Word.
- Assisting with the maintenance of lawyer lists and various onboarding materials.
- Coordinating the updating/tagging of practice and industry group narrative descriptions, achievements, and client work on the Fasken website.
- Assisting in the completion of Practice and Industry Group ranking submissions, as needed, and assist in the coordination/setup of all rankings related research or interview requests.
- Assisting with special projects from thought leadership development to seminar series coordination, as needed.
- Coordinating virtual meetings and video conference meetings for various internal stakeholders within the BD and Industry & Practice Group (IPG) structure.
- Assume additional responsibilities as requested.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience in a partnership structure and /or matrix environment is an asset.
- Computer literate with good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize work assignments, meet deadlines, and respond to changing priorities. in Business or Marketing
- Ability to find solutions and work independently where required.
- Analytical, organizational and research skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office 2010 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams.
- Ability to focus on detail and accuracy as well as highly developed customer service acumen.
- Confidence and a high degree of comfort in dealing with all levels within the Firm with diplomacy.
- Team player with energy and positive attitude.

Compensation
The typical salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal and market equity.
