Hira Rowan LLP is a boutique downtown law firm involved in the practice of high-profile matters including commercial/civil litigation, regulatory litigation, criminal matters and public inquiries. We are currently recruiting for a Legal Administrative Assistant with 5+ years of litigation experience. We are looking for a team player who is proactive, technically inclined and who has a keen eye for detail and organization. This is an on-site role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing exceptional assistance to one of our firms’ partners;
- Maintain high volume of documents both electronically and physically;
- Drafting/proofreading/editing correspondence and standard court documents;
- Scheduling trials, examinations for discovery and preparing required documentation;
- Preparing and updating documents binders, briefs and records;
- Daily filing, photocopying and scanning;
- Opening and closing files and general file maintenance;
- Maintaining extensive BF system ensuring follow up and receipt of requested materials/documents;
- Preparing and sending monthly and final bills to clients; responding to general accounting requests;
- Other legal duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate for this position will be self-motivated, enthusiastic and possess skills, qualifications, experience and attributes that include the following:
- Legal Administrative Assistant diploma from an accredited college;
- 5+ years litigation experience;
- Solid understanding of general litigation rules and procedures in British Columbia;
- Strong technical skills and proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office; experience working with PC Law and Worldox GX3 an asset;
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills;
- Exceptional proofreading, writing, editing and document formatting skills;
- Self-starter able to multi-task and prioritize work;
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail;
- Enjoys work both independently and as part of a collegial team;
- Possesses a client focused approach and commitment to providing exceptional service to internal and external clients.
