Many of our lawyers are recognized as leaders in their practice areas and have extensive experience with the most difficult cases and transactions.
We are seeking an organized, conscientious and diligent individual who enjoys multi-tasking and takes pride in having a strong work ethic and being detail oriented. This is a full-time permanent position as a Corporate Legal Administrative Assistant assisting a senior partner.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Handling corporate files from open to close
• Assisting with annual report and minute book filing
• Preparing purchase and mortgage documents, other documents for registration at Land Title Office
• Registering transfers, mortgages and other documents for registration at Land Title Office
• Preparing discharge of mortgages and reporting discharge particulars to purchaser’s legal representative
• Ordering payout statement on existing mortgage
• Conduct title and off title due diligence searches
• Processing transactions through BC Online and LTSA
• Conduct name reservations and Will searches for estate matters
• Draft initial Wills, Power of Attorneys , Representation Agreements, etc.
• File Wills Notices
Qualifications:
• Graduate from a recognized legal administrative assistant program;
• At least 5+ years of recent experience working as a corporate LAA;
• Excellent technical skills (familiarity with ALF Corporate, ESILaw, NetDocuments, BC Online and Microsoft Office an asset);
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail;
• Team player and also works well independently;
• Excellent prioritization skills and works well with minimal supervision;
• Strong ability to manage deadlines.
