BBU is a small and growing law firm located in downtown Vancouver. We represent clients on a broad spectrum of legal issues, primarily in litigation and dispute resolution, while maintaining a focus on strata property matters.

Responsibilities
- Manage trust accounting and compliance in accordance with the Law Society of British Columbia’s rules and standards
- Prepare and complete bank reconciliations
- Oversee billing and collections processes to ensure current and accurate accounts.
- Handle full-cycle accounting to the general ledger stage
- Manage accounts receivable/payable
- Manage payroll and benefits
- Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, year-end requirements, and operational budgeting

Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in an accounting or finance role managing billing, collections, trust administration, accounts receivable/payable, and disbursements
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Unity) and MS Office
- Knowledge of trust accounting and law firm billing practices
- An understanding of the Law Society of British Columbia’s accounting, trust, and administrative requirements, or similar experience complying with a professional regulatory body
- Strong communication, leadership, and team-building IQ
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain confidentiality
- Professional demeanor in communicating with stakeholders, clients, and team members
- Office management and/or human resource competencies, and/or ability and interest in developing same, would be beneficial
