Payroll & People Data Practitioner

We are currently looking for a Payroll & People Data Practitioner to join our Human Resources department and invite you to review the job description. This position will report to the Compensation & Benefits Senior Manager and have a variety of responsibilities. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Duties & Responsibilities
Payroll & Benefits Support:
- Assist the Payroll and Benefits Specialist with semi-monthly payroll for 500+ employees;
- Act as a backup for payroll during vacation relief periods;
- Provide administrative support for payroll and benefit functions as required;
- Collaborate with the Compensation & Benefits Senior Manger on various HR/Payroll related analytic reporting and development of same; and
- Contribute to year-end budget processes; the annual evaluation process for legal support and associates.
Human Resources Support:
- Understand the functionality of the HRIS system (ADP Workforce Now) and its connection with external platforms, ensuring data accuracy and integrity across all offices;
- Develop and maintain auditing systems to maintain data quality;
- Assist with HR projects and generate HR-related reports as required;
- Maintain onboarding packages ensuring the onboarding process is efficient and streamlined, providing new hires with clear, organized materials;
- Actively participate in Occupational Health and Safety and Emergency Response Committees; and
- Perform other HR-related duties as required.
Knowledge, Qualities & Experience Required
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Canadian Payroll Administration;
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now is an asset, but not required;
- Knowledge of HRIS systems is a plus;
- Strong organization and multi-tasking skills;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations across all levels of the firm;
- Tactful and discreet when handling confidential matters;
- Ability to prioritize and manage competing demands with attention to detail and accountability;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (advanced skills); Power BI an asset;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; and
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
