Ratcliff LLP is seeking a Jr. Legal Administrative Assistant in our Conveyancing department.
This role is a one year leave replacement contract with the possibility of a permanent position once the contract ends, based on the needs of the firm at that time.
This position is full-time, in-office at our North Vancouver location.
Key Responsibilities
This support position works closely with the department’s other staff and lawyers. The ideal candidate will have 3 months to 1 year’s expertise in conveyancing and possess a passion for exceptional client service, accuracy and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities include:
- Opening/closing files
- Obtaining title searches, tax certificate and ordering strata forms once the file is opened
- Sending initial information questionnaire to the clients
- Assisting to print & scan documents if needed
- Organizing couriers
- Reporting on discharges to other side and following up on the discharges with the other side or the lenders
- Following up on the strata holdbacks and strata documents
- May include preparing the final reports to the clients and the lenders
Qualifications
- Graduate of a Legal Administrative Assistant program
- Minimum 3 months of recent legal experience in a conveyancing department
- Ability to take direction and follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Professional and courteous when dealing with clients, lawyers, and staff
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Responsible with a can-do attitude and willingness to learn
