Contract | Part-Time | Executive-Level HR Leadership

Pier Law & Mediation is a growing, award-winning family law firm with offices in White Rock, Surrey, and Tsawwassen — and a new flagship Vancouver office launching in 2026. We’re known for our modern, people-first approach to family law, combining legal excellence with a progressive workplace culture rooted in integrity, professionalism, and wellbeing.

We’re seeking a Fractional Human Resources Director to lead and elevate our people strategy as we scale. This part-time, strategic role will provide executive-level HR leadership on a flexible basis, working closely with our Managing Partner and operations team.

This is an ideal opportunity for a senior HR professional with legal or professional services

Main Responsibilities

- Develop and implement a people and culture strategy aligned with firm growth and values.

- Advise leadership on organizational structure, workforce planning, and succession design.

- Collaborate on strategic hiring and retention initiatives.

- Lead end-to-end recruitment strategy and onboarding programs.

- Refine compensation models and oversee performance management processes.

- Lead initiatives to foster culture, connection, and resilience across offices.

- Ensure compliance with BC Employment Standards, WorkSafeBC, and Law Society   requirements.

- Maintain employment policies, contracts, and handbooks.

- Advise on sensitive HR matters and conflict resolution.

- Strategic retention and culture roadmap for 2025–2026

- Implement learning programs

- Other office duties as needed

Required:

- 10+ years of progressive HR leadership, ideally in legal or professional services.

- Strong knowledge of employment law, compensation strategy, and organizational development.

- Exceptional communication, discretion, and emotional intelligence.

- Proven success implementing people systems in growth-phase organizations.

 Position: Contract Part Time/ 20-40 hours per month

 Location: On Site (White Rock and/or Vancouver locations)

 Compensation: $3,000–$7,000/month based on experience
