THE OPPORTUNITY
As a full-time Conveyancer with our growing, forward-thinking boutique firm in Burnaby, you will play a key role in supporting our real estate practice area. This position would best suit a self-motivated, adaptable, and independent conveyancing professional who is looking to add their expertise to a positive and collaborative environment.
This position primarily supports the real estate practice area. Anticipated average monthly volume is up to 20 closings per month across residential, commercial, and refinancing matters. Possible duties in corporate, commercial, wills and personal planning may be added based on interest, availability of work, and workflow over time.
The successful candidate will work from our Burnaby office located near beautiful Deer Lake Park. Regular working hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00am – 5:00pm. This position is also eligible for flexible hours and hybrid remote work.
REQUIREMENTS
We are looking for someone who is not only a skilled conveyancer, but also a great fit for our team and culture:
- A positive, proactive, and dependable attitude, with a willingness to learn and grow.
- A team-oriented and growth mindset – adaptable, collaborative, personable, and respectful with colleagues and clients alike.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in conveyancing, with the ability to manage files independently.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in the MS Office suite of applications with the ability to adapt to and master new computer programs and processes.
- Previous experience with LEAP, BC Online, and Appara is an asset.
- Related post-secondary education is an asset, i.e. Legal Administrative Assistant Certificate or Diploma.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND REPONSIBLITIES
- Prepare closing documents for conveyancing and financing transactions (primarily residential with some commercial).
- Facilitate the completion of conveyancing and financing transactions (i.e. exchange of closing documents, correspondences with the other side, handling logistics of closing, preparing reporting letter to other side/client).
- Perform initial review of documents and
- Perform Land Title filings/registrations.
