Blakes is currently seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant in the Financial Services department in the Vancouver office.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Preparing, editing and formatting various correspondence and documents
  • File maintenance, including: daily filing, file organization, opening and closing files
  • Maintaining BF system
  • Maintaining lawyers’ calendars, including scheduling meetings
  • Coordinating travel arrangements for lawyers
  • Entering timesheets and preparation of billings
  • General administrative duties and support, as required

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant preferred
  • Intermediate level word processing skills
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Keyboarding at a minimum of 60wpm
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to listen effectively and respond appropriately
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive, privileged confidential
  • communications and work product
  • Ability to work well both independently and as a contributing member of a team,
  • managing work and priorities successfully in each setting
  • Reliable, responsible, self-motivated and able to take initiative or be proactive where
  • appropriate
  • Professional, positive and can-do attitude

This position offers a hiring salary range of $55,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience, skills and qualifications.
