We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our busy Real Estate Practice Group! This opportunity is on a 14-month contract basis.

This position will appeal to candidates looking to join a firm with an energetic office culture, in an exciting and challenging position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New file opening;
  • Preparation of all documentation relating to transactions using BC Online;
  • Working with MyLTSA;
  • Preparing purchase, sale, and refinance documents
  • Reviewing contracts, financing documents, lease and land title documents
  • Conducting due diligence searches
  • Dealing with various commercial real estate transactions;
  • File documents in Land Title Office (online);
  • Maintain client contact ensuring fast turnaround;
  • Managing volumes of filing and file organization, electronic and paper;
  • Audits and conflicts searches
  • Expense requisitions; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ of relevant real estate experience;
  • Graduate of a recognized legal administrative program;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Excellent proofreading skills (ability to check typed material for grammatical, typographical, spelling, word usage and format errors);
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to take initiative;
  • Positive attitude and detail-oriented;
  • Problem solving with minimal supervision;
  • Handling and prioritizing workload independently;
  • Meeting strict deadlines; and
  • Communicating in a professional manner with lawyers and other team members.

Compensation:

We offer a market-leading total rewards package with the expected range of the annual salary to be between $56,440 to $70,550.

The final salary is influenced by the location of the incumbent and may fluctuate based on the qualifications, skills, and market considerations, ensuring alignment with internal and external pay equity standards.
