Description

Miller Law is a small boutique law firm located in Burnaby, BC.  We focus on Wills, Estate Probate, Estate Planning, Corporate and Real Estate.

We are looking for a full time Junior Legal Administrative Assistant for our busy office. We offer competitive salary and benefits.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Answering and directing telephone calls

Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence

Greeting clients

Booking meeting rooms

Booking teleconferences, in person meetings and ZOOM appointments

File opening

File maintenance and organization

Performing general office duties (including scanning, copying, saving documents)

Day to day bookkeeping, such as preparing receipts, cheques, billing, accounts payable and accounts receivable

Daily deposits using cheque scanner and banking

Assisting and liaising with our Paralegal, Senior LAA and Firm Administrator and reporting on file progress

Preparing documents for signature

Maintaining a bring forward system, monitoring and responding to deadlines, extensions and other time sensitive matters

Conducting searches on BC Online and LTSA

Assisting with closing files

General administrative duties as required

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines

Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and juggle demands

Strong communication skills both written and verbal

The capacity to deal with a high-level of paper flow and multiple files

A passion for providing superior client service

The ability to remain calm under pressure

Ability to manage a high volume of work

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

A positive attitude with the willingness to learn

The ability to work both independently and within a team

Professional legal administrative assistant certification

1-2 years of experience in a law firm environment

Sound knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel and Internet Explorer and other computer applications
