Hira Rowan LLP is a growing boutique firm focused on litigation located in downtown Vancouver. We are currently seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to join our civil defence team.
Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. This position is fully in office.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Opening, maintaining, and closing files
- Organizing and filing both paper and electronic documents and maintaining same
- Formatting and proofreading legal correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents
- Prepare documents for filing with court registries, oversee filing and service of documents
- Calendar management, including scheduling appointments, trials, chambers applications, examination for discoveries, mediations, and experts
- Maintaining a bring forward system, including monitoring limitation and filing deadlines
- Assisting with trial preparation
- Communicating with clients, counsel, process servers and court staff
- Ensuring client confidentiality and data security
- Organizing discovery materials
- Perform legal searches such as BC Online, CSO and LTSA
- Provide general administrative support, including answering and directing phone calls, scanning, photocopying, filing, and data entry
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a recognized Legal Administrative Assistant program an asset
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading abilities
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
- Familiarity with the BC Supreme Court Civil Rules
- Professional, client-focused, and able to work independently or as part of a team
