WHC is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our office. This position is part of an admin team of five and reports directly to the Director of Finance & Operations. The role is responsible for processing all trust transactions and billing requests. It requires excellent customer support skills and the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.

 Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Daily trust transactions:
- Prepare trust cheques
- Receipt trust funds
- Trust transfers to General account
- Monitor online bank accounts
- Wiring funds
- Open/close interest bearing accounts/terms
- Trust and General bank reconciliations
- Ensuring compliance with Law Society rules
- Billing
- Regular billing for real estate department
- Institutional client billing (every two months)
- Back up for monthly e-billing
- Billing write offs
- Manage and reconcile petty cash
- Reception coverage as need
 Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a law firm would be an asset
- Two years’ experience in accounting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- An ability to work well with lawyers, staff and clients
- Ability to multitask, establish priorities, work independently and meet objectives with minimal supervision
- Excellent attention to detail, well organized with efficient data entry skills
- Desire to learn and assume additional responsibilities as time progresses
