Position Details

  • Location: Downtown Vancouver office.
  • Salary Range: $50,000 to $58,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive benefits program provided.
  • Reporting: Reports to the Firm Administrator and to the Accounting Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Our practice is growing, and we are looking for a skilled Accounting Clerk to join our team. Responsibilities include:

  • Processing accounts payable (AP) transactions and vendor payments.
  • Reconciling vendor statements and promptly resolving discrepancies.
  • Accurate data entry and maintenance of financial records.
  • Assisting with the preparation, finalization, collection, and filing of client invoices/bills.
  • Posting disbursements and assisting with accounts receivable (AR) processing.
  • Performing general accounting functions and providing backup support for other financial operations.

Qualifications and Skills

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Experience: 1-3 years of accounting experience. Law firm experience is a strong asset.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and accounting software (ideally ESILaw/Unity or similar).
  • Knowledge: Good working knowledge of accounting procedures and/or a formal accounting education.
  • Core Skills: Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
  • Communication: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within an accounting team.
