Description

Fulton is one of the oldest law firms in BC, and as a full-service firm, our client base is rapidly expanding throughout the BC interior. As our associates work to build their own practices, they are fully supported by a team-based approach and cutting-edge information technology.

We are looking for an experienced Associate Lawyer to join our Realization & Insolvency practice group. A successful candidate must have the following:

  • a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (J.D.);
  • be a member of good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia;
  • one to four years of litigation experience (any realization and insolvency experience is an asset);
  • strong research and writing skills as well as a demonstrated ability to navigate complex issues;
  • ability to speak to Supreme Court chambers applications on a regular basis;
  • effective client and practice management skills; and
  • be self-motivated with the ability to work closely and collaboratively with lawyers and staff.

As a lawyer joining our firm you will experience:

  • a very collegial environment, with formal and informal mentorship relationships. We have a process for annual performance reviews, and a formal Associate Committee that hosts associate roundtable lunches monthly to keep associates engaged with and informed about overall firm operations and management;
  • doing quality work in a firm with an exceptional reputation that promotes a healthy work-life balance; and
  • competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. Our compensation structure is designed to reward growth and excellence, without losing sight of work-life balance. Professional dues and insurance are paid for by the firm.

Situated in British Columbia’s beautiful interior, Kamloops has a well-earned reputation as BC’s adventure playground. The region provides the best of seasons and lifestyles. Mild winters and warm, sunny summers allow residents to enjoy outdoor activities year-round. Kamloops is famous for its world class sports facilities, mountain biking, hiking, golfing and, of course, unsurpassed skiing and snowboarding at Sun Peaks Resort – less than an hour from the city centre. With a population of 90,000, Kamloops provides the amenities of a large centre, with the luxuries of affordable housing, recreational lifestyles, and reasonable commute times.
