WHO WE NEED
We are looking for a full-time billing and legal administrative assistant with three or more years of experience Your work will help fuel the success of our team and our clients, and you will be provided with support to develop your skillset within the legal profession.

WHO YOU ARE
To be considered for this role we need you to possess the following attributes:
- Experience: 3+ years as a legal administrative assistant in a similar role with comparable responsibilities. Billing experience is considered an asset.
- Education: A legal administrative assistant certification from an accredited post-secondary institution is considered an asset.
- Skills: You must be proficient with Microsoft® Office applications and Adobe Pro, have experience with BC Registries, myLTSA, Worldox and/or EsiLaw, and strong business math skills. You must have superior organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to manage various deadlines. You must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Characteristics: You must be self-motivated and willing to take direction and seek instructions. You must be a problem solver with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. You must be eager to learn and take on challenges. You must have a great attitude, be reliable, and understand the importance of discretion and client confidentiality.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
You will be an integral part of our team and a critical contributor to the success of the lawyers of the firm. You will be responsible for:
- Administering client files, including file opening (conflict searches, client identifications and other tasks), scanning documents, filing (primarily electronically), billing and file closing.
- Conducting searches with BC Registries and Land Title Office, etc.
- Maintaining a “bring-forward” system.
- Managing incoming and outgoing mail; answering client telephone calls, emails and general inquiries.
- Drafting routine correspondence and documentation.
- Providing administrative support to legal assistants, paralegals, and lawyers.
- Completing any other administrative duties as requested/required.
In addition to providing invaluable assistance to our clients and our lawyers, you will be responsible for the following billing tasks:
- Providing work-in-progress time and disbursement administration; dealing with write-offs, transfers, discrepancies, review for correct task coding and billing rates, double entries, etc.
- Preparing and posting of monthly e-bills
- Uploading e-billing invoices into a third-party billing system
- Following up on rejected invoices
- Answering e-billing inquiries
- Performing other tasks depending on your available time
