Cleveland Doan LLP is a full-service law firm located in White Rock, BC. We are seeking a Business Lawyer Associate with a minimum of 5 years experience in corporate/commercial law.
The position offers a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to build on a well-established solicitors practice with an existing client base of over 350 companies spanning over 30 years, and to work with a highly skilled corporate paralegal.
This position will involve:
- Contract Drafting and Review
- Corporate Reorganizations
- Incorporations
- Commercial Borrowing
- Buying and selling of businesses
- Real Property Transactions
- Creating trusts and implementing other accountant driven planning
Core Requirements:
- Member in good standing of the Law Society of BC
- Minimum 5 years of corporate/commercial law experience
- Possess a demonstrated ability to take initiative and be proactive
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks and work independently with minimal supervision
- Able to respond quickly to the demands of a commercial solicitor’s practice
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Have excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and presentation skills, including the ability to effectively problem solve, prioritize and multi-task and the ability to operate within all levels of the organization
- Ability to work both collaboratively with other lawyers and professionals as needed
Compensation will be on a fee-split basis plus bonus structure, with total annual income potential in the range of $150k-250k. A benefits package, access to continuing legal education, and firm contribution towards professional memberships may also be applicable.
