We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join our Vancouver Office. The successful candidate will be a part of a team of legal professionals who help our clients navigate complex commercial real estate transactions. The successful candidate’s main responsibilities will include assisting in all aspects of real property and in the completion of commercial purchase, sale and financing transactions.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Managing real estate property transactions from start to finish under the supervision of a commercial real estate lawyer;
- Conducting full title searches, including Land Title and BC Corporate Registry, interpreting results, reviewing and summarizing title documents;
- Preparing and registering title documents in land title office and other registries;
- Assisting legal professionals with the completion of commercial real property purchases, lending transactions, sales, financings;
- Liaising with internal and external parties and assisting with closings, coordination of financing payouts, status and final reporting;
- Reviewing and summarizing documentation for due diligence purposes;
- Liaising with clients, financial institutions, counsel and other parties.
Education and Experience
Post-secondary Diploma from a recognized Paralegal program.
Minimum 3 years of previous direct experience.
Knowledge and Skills
- Comprehensive understanding of BC Land Title Office registration requirements;
- Transactional background including real property acquisitions, dispositions, financings and title searching;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, BC Online, MYLTSA, iManage;
- Superior organizational skills with the ability to meet multiple deadlines, prioritize tasks and anticipate the next steps;
- Excellent communication skills with a client-centred approach;
- Sound judgment, work ethic and the ability to effectively collaborate with team members.

Compensation:
The typical hiring salary range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000 annually; the base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal and market equity.
