MacKenzie Fujisawa LLP is a downtown Vancouver law firm with origins dating back to the 1960s. Many of our lawyers are recognized as leaders in their practice areas and have extensive experience with the most difficult cases and transactions.

We are seeking an organized, conscientious and diligent individual who enjoys multi-tasking and takes pride in having a strong work ethic and being detail-oriented.  This is a full-time, permanent position as a Conveyancing Paralegal.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing purchase and mortgage documents, other documents for registration at Land Title Office
  • Registering transfers, mortgages and other documents for registration at Land Title Office
  • Preparing discharge of mortgages and reporting discharge particulars to purchaser’s legal representative
  • Ordering payout statement on existing mortgage
  • Conduct title and off title due diligence searches such as (tax searches, company searches, PPR searches)
  • Review and process purchase and sales contracts, deposits and payouts
  • Prepare all internal documents relating to trust transactions
  • Prepare and finalize reporting letters
  • Communicate with vendors, purchasers, financial institutions, clients, lawyers, realtors and others
  • Administrative assistance for lawyers and /or staff in filing land title documents related to non-real estate matters (i.e. liens and other charges against title)
  • Preparing LOTR declarations and reports when applicable, and registering the same at Land Owner Transparency Registry

Qualifications:

  • Paralegal or Legal administrative certificate from a recognized program
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Real Estate and Conveyancing
  • Excellent technical skills (familiarity with ESILaw, NetDocuments, and Microsoft Office an asset)
  • Ability to multitask and handle a high volume of work
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Team player and also works well independently and take the initiative
  • Excellent prioritization skills and works well with minimal supervision
  • Enjoys a challenge and expanding their knowledge base
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; and
  • Strong ability to manage deadlines
