Director of Administration
Fractional and Remote

Could this be you?

Ascent Employment Law is seeking an experienced Director of Administration to guide the firm through its next stage of growth and evolution. This is a senior, fractional leadership role for a seasoned professional who thrives in a law firm environment and brings strong operational, strategic, and people leadership capabilities.

Working closely with the firm’s three partners and Operations Manager, you will elevate firm-wide operational performance, support expansion across British Columbia, and play a critical mentorship role by preparing the Operations Manager to assume leadership of firm growth and operations by 2030, following her return from maternity leave.

This role is fully remote and well suited to an accomplished law firm or professional services leader seeking meaningful, high-impact work on a flexible schedule.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing leadership across all administrative and operational functions of the firm, including people, systems, and processes
  • Driving sustainable firm growth through talent recruitment, retention, and client expansion initiatives
  • Partnering with the firm’s partners to translate strategic objectives into operational plans and measurable outcomes
  • Strengthening operational efficiency, financial oversight, and scalability as the firm continues to grow
  • Fostering and protecting the firm’s collaborative, values-driven culture
  • Mentoring and developing the Operations Manager to build long-term leadership capacity and ensure continuity of firm operations
  • Serving as a trusted advisor to firm leadership on operational risk, change management, and organizational development

You will have:

  • 8+ years of senior leadership experience in a professional services environment, ideally within a law firm environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in operations management, financial oversight, and strategic planning
  • A proven track record of driving sustainable growth and improving organizational effectiveness
  • Strong leadership presence, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with partners and senior professionals
  • A genuine interest in mentorship, leadership development, and building strong internal teams
  • Experience working in remote or hybrid environments is an asset

 Here’s what we offer:

  • Flexible, part-time schedule (15 - 25 hours/week)
  • Fully remote role based anywhere in British Columbia
  • Annual compensation of $85,000 - $125,000, commensurate with experience, plus up to 15% performance incentives
  • Comprehensive benefits including extended health and dental, RRSP, Wellness Spending Account, and professional development budget

Here’s how to apply:

Please email your resume and cover letter, and all other enquiries, to [email protected]. We thank all applicants for their interest, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
