The Role:
We are currently seeking a detailed part-time Document Processing Specialist to join our Vancouver office. The hours for this role are Monday – Thursday, 1:00pm – 9:00pm PST.
Essential Functions:
- Provide a friendly, helpful and knowledgeable first point of contact for staff of Bennett Jones seeking Microsoft Office Applications problem resolution
- Converting PDF documents into Word or other formats as required and formatting same to firm standards
- Transcribing dictation using BigHand Digital Dictation
- Creating and troubleshooting blacklines using Litera Compare
- Preparing and editing a variety of legal complex documents, spreadsheets, presentations, flow charts and PDF documents
- Creating and troubleshooting Excel documents, including the ability to produce graphs and tables, use basic formulas efficiently, and perform calculations and automation to process large volumes of data
- Variety of other tasks and projects, as assigned
Qualifications:
- Three to five years of experience in a document processing department and/or as a legal assistant
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
- Above average knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, DocXTools, Litera Compare and BigHand software
- Knowledge of Adobe Premiere, OmniPage and ProxyPro is an asset
- Strong word processing skills including superior accuracy, proofreading and attention to detail are critical
- Someone who is highly organized and self-motivated, possessing the ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision, will excel in this role
Salary range: $57,000 - $80,000 (full time equivalent) based on experience and market information.
