The IT Specialist:

  • Reports directly to the IT Services Manager and work closely with the internal and external IT teams.
  • Works 35 hours per week. Support requests made after business hours will be handled by the Firm’s MSP
  • Is vigilant with deadlines, multitasking and time management and is able to keep on top of expectations and quality of work
  • Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with all RG team members. 
  • Sits at a desk, working on the computer for long periods of time
  • Moves around the office, carrying or installing equipment

Job Duties:

General

  • Assists with the planning, implementation, maintenance, and documentation of all facets of reliable, efficient, integrated computer information networks
  • Assists with training team members on the use of our computer network, cloud environment and other applications
  • Facilitates and coordinates support from IT support provider, to assist all team members with their IT related needs
  • Works with IT Services Manager to execute on IT related projects
  • Ensures that technical policies and documentation are kept up to date
  • Maintains inventory for all computer equipment in the office and used off-site
  • Manages smart phone usage for the firm (inventory, set-up, troubleshooting)
  • Manages IP Phone system (currently Shaw) including set-up for new users, programming changes, ordering new equipment
  • Completes onboarding and offboarding IT tasks for all team members

Client Care

  • Builds strong relationships with all team members
  • Continuously communicates effectively to resolve support requests
  • Provides great customer service by offering innovative solutions and continually improving service delivery to meet client needs while remaining cost effective
  • Identifies and acts on requests
  • Continually learns, develops, and maintains skill sets/competencies

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar or progressively more challenging role
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Experience working in a law firm or legal environment considered an asset
  • Advanced usage and knowledge of Microsoft technologies such as Office 365, Exchange, Azure, Windows servers, and desktop environments
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructure technologies
  • Experience working with a document management system
  • Computer savvy with an ability to learn various computer programs quickly
  • Effective written and oral communication
  • Teamwork and accountability mindset
