About The Role

Located in the heart of Uptown New Westminster on the ground floor of Royal City Centre, NW Notaries + Lawyers is committed to providing outstanding service to New Westminster and the surrounding communities.  We are looking for a junior lawyer to support the firm in a variety of services, such as real estate conveyancing, mortgage refinancing, estate planning, and notarizations. This is a wonderful opportunity to develop your skills in real estate transactions and estate planning.

While this role is generally part-time, you will be expected to be available for occasional full-time work to provide holiday or sick-time coverage. This role has an in-office requirement for any hours worked.

Experience

Ideally, you are a lawyer with 1-2 year(s) of experience working with real estate conveyancing and mortgage refinancing. Experience with estate planning is considered an asset. You have stellar communication and interpersonal skills. You are flexible and eager to step up to the plate when your colleagues need a helping hand.

The compensation will be determined by the year of call and experience. The expected salary range for this position is a full-time equivalent of $86,000.00 to $95,000.00 and will be pro-rated to part-time hours as agreed. Please note that the range reflects the base pay only and does not include our 100% employer paid benefits and various other perks offered by the firm.

General Duties

While flexibility is key, the duties of this role generally include:

• Overseeing real estate files with little to no supervision, with the assistance of an experienced conveyancer
• Notarizations
• Assisting with the preparation of estate planning documents
• Assisting with administrative and operational tasks
• Proving holiday and sick day coverage for others
