General Accountability
Reporting to the Manager, Legal Support Services, the Tax Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant is responsible for assisting a Partner with all aspects of their busy practice including managing client and file information, establishing and maintaining organizational systems to manage paper-flow; client contact; drafting and filing documents; billing; and other administrative tasks as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities
- Daily correspondence, document preparation.
- File preparation and management.
- Preparation of CRA authorizations.
- Time entry, billings, and client collections.
- Maintain BF system.
- Communicate with the tax court registry.
- Preparation of CRA and tax court forms.
- Filing documents with the CRA and tax court.
- Direct client contact.
- Other general and administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum two years of experience.
- Advanced level of proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to effectively manage a high volume of work, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
- Meticulously detail oriented - excellent spelling, grammar, and proof-reading skills.
- Strong service orientation.
- Ability to take initiative and think ahead.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High energy team player, positive and willing attitude.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
- Ability to comfortably adapt to changing environments.
- Flexibility to work occasional overtime.
- Keyboarding of at least 60 w.p.m.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have completed an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program.
Compensation + Benefits
The typical salary range for this position is $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal and market equity.
