Owen Bird Law Corporation is a downtown, full-service, mid-sized law firm committed to providing exceptional service and outstanding results for our clients.
We are currently looking for an intermediate legal administrative assistant to work in our litigation department to work with two lawyers who specialize in general commercial litigation, insolvency and insurance defense. This role would be a great opportunity for a team player who can work independently and is pro-active. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is considered an asset for this role.
In this role your responsibilities will include:
• Maintaining efficient file management and bring forward system for limitation and follow-up dates.
• Scheduling trials, applications, examinations for discovery, and other matters.
• Opening and closing files.
• Preparing and drafting various correspondence and legal documents from precedent documents.
• Preparing lists of documents.
• Preparation of bills.
• Other administrative tasks are performed as required.
Here is what you bring to the team:
• Minimum of five years of relevant work experience as a legal administrative assistant in a general litigation law practice.
• Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is considered an asset.
• Graduation from a legal administrative assistant program
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 applications and pdf software.
• Proficient with BC Online, LTSA, and other online platforms.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong organization skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 and is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including an RRSP Matching Program.
