Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive administrative support, including conducting conflict checks, opening and closing files, proactively tracking deadlines, maintaining client records, and keeping lawyers organized;
• Handle daily correspondence, prepare documents, and draft and file court documents as required;
• Manage and prioritize incoming correspondence, respond to inquiries, and ensure prompt follow-up;
• Assist in assembling documents needed for court, such as chambers records, books of authorities, and court pleadings;
• Assist with billing, time entry, and other administrative tasks as needed.

Knowledge, Qualities & Experience Required

• Minimum 3-5 years’ Legal Administrative experience;
• Understanding and familiarity with various litigation legal precedents and procedures;
• Experience in foreclosures, restructuring and insolvency would be an asset;
• Strong MS Word skills preferred including advanced word processing skills;
• Excel, PowerPoint, IManage, Nuance, Elite/Webview skills considered an asset;
• Familiarity with CSO, LTO, and WestLaw considered an asset;
• Accurate and detail-oriented, and possesses sound judgment and initiative;
• Excellent organizational and time management required to prioritize a high volume of tasks and manage competing priorities;
• Dedicated to providing service beyond expectation;
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to manage multiple internal clients and be adaptable to the needs of each and;
• Fluency in Mandarin (written and verbal) is an asset.
