Scion Law LLP is a growing boutique firm located in downtown Vancouver, specializing in estate litigation and family law, as well as tax, trust, estate planning and administration. We are currently seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join our close and vibrant team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced litigation setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with file management, scheduling, and coordination of court dates, mediations, examinations, and client meetings
- Manage deadlines, limitation periods, and litigation timelines
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and third-party service providers
- Prepare application records, books of authorities, and document briefs
- Support filing and document organization
- Prepare, draft, and revise correspondence and legal documents, including affidavits, court forms, representation grant materials, etc.
- General administrative support for the estate litigation team
- This is a 100% in-office position
Qualifications:
- 2 – 5 years experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in estate litigation or civil litigation is preferred but we are prepared to train the right candidate
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures and court rules
- Excellent drafting, organization, and time-management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal software (experience with NetDocs and/or Cosmolex is an asset)
- Ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills and a client-service-oriented mindset
- A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of tasks
