Description
Kazimirski Law Corporation (Kazlaw Injury Lawyers) is one of the leading personal injury law firms in BC and we are looking for an intermediate or senior paralegal to join our Vancouver office.
The successful candidate must be organized, compassionate, a strong attention to detail, able to multi-task while working both independently and within a team structure.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Review file intake material
- Contact clients for updates
- Prepare chronologies and summarize clinical records
- Review and redact medical and income loss documents
- Conduct motor vehicle searches, corporate searches, land title searches, etc.
- Draft Notices of Civil Claim (British Columbia)
- Draft Statements of Claim (Alberta & Yukon)
- Draft Bill of Costs
- Draft Trial Briefs
- Draft trial certificates and trial records
- Draft List of Documents
- Scheduling when required (IME appointments, mediation, trial, trial management conferences, examination for discovery)
- Review all incoming mail and complete or provide instructions
- Contact witnesses and prepare lay witness statements
- Maintain file organization and BF system
- Lead the team in all aspects of trial preparation (expert scheduling, preparing books of authorities, books of documents, assist in arranging mock jury focus groups, etc.)
Qualifications:
-Â Paralegal Certificate from a recognized Institution
- Minimum of 5 years working as a paralegal with a minimum of 2 years working in personal injury (plaintiff preferred)
- Excellent word processing skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- Pro-active and detail oriented
- Superior analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
