At Labour Rights Law, we specialize in labour, employment, administrative, and human rights law.  We are looking for a Senior lawyer with experience in employment law, labour law, human rights in Provincial, Federal and Construction and general litigation to join our growing team. Our ideal candidate has experience conducting multi-day hearings either in court or before an administrative tribunal. Private practice experience is an asset.

As a Senior Associate, you will:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of labour relations matters, including grievance arbitrations,  Labour Relations Board proceedings, collective bargaining, wrongful dismissals, and other employment related cases.
  • Lead the development of legal strategy and advocacy, while mentoring junior lawyers and managing client relationships.
  • Represent clients at all levels of court, including BC Supreme Court, Federal Courts, and administrative tribunals.
  • Take on increasing responsibility for firm leadership and management, with a clear path to partnership.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues in both virtual and in-person settings, ensuring that clients receive the highest quality of service and legal counsel. 

Qualifications:

We’re looking for a candidate who:

  • has been called to the Bar in British Columbia and has experience in both BC Supreme Court and Federal Courts
  • Has a minimum of five years employment law experience
  • is familiar with Labour Relations Board process and arbitrations
  • is capable of independently conducting a hearing or a trial
  • has a strong track record of handling complex cases independently and strategically
  • is self-motivated, with the discipline to work independently from home while thriving in a collaborative team setting
  • has an interest in taking on leadership roles and is motivated by the opportunity to fast-track to partnership
