This role supports our Vancouver and Surrey office.

Job title: Systems Administrator                   Reports to:  Director, IT 

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor, support and maintain network infrastructure/desktop and server operating systems and other applications used by the firm.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to correct network infrastructure failures/anomalies. Collaborate with other members of the IT Team to keep systems operational 24x7
  • Analyze and resolve issues in order to maximize the benefits of all systems to ensure firm operability and profitability. Generate practical solutions to problems while maximizing existing resources.
  • Assimilate new technologies, information and methods needed to maintain servers and network infrastructure.
  • This position also serves as an escalation point for the support team. At peak times when the helpdesk is experiencing high volumes, you will be required to assist with providing technical support to the end-users.
  • This role participates in on-call/weekend coverage rotation schedule.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Windows Server Operating Systems
  • Previous legal/professional services experience preferred
  • Basic Microsoft SQL Server (advanced experience would be an asset)
  • Active Directory & Group Policy
  • VMware technologies
  • Storage systems and backup (NetApp, Veeam)
  • Microsoft Office 365 including Exchange (hybrid)
  • Experience with Elite 3E (legal accounting software) not necessary but an asset
  • Leadership skills, critical thinking and ability to prioritize
  • A sense of humor!
  • Self-motivated and pro-active
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Minimum 5 years’ plus experience required
