Are you passionate about training and law firm tech?
We are looking for someone who thrives on training and mentoring others, embraces technology and wants to make a real difference in how our firm works and learns.
What you can expect:
As a member of our management team and reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will play a central role in how our people engage with technology and continuous learning.
The Training & Legal Technology Specialist will be responsible for supporting onboarding, driving development initiatives, optimizing technology adoption and managing relationships with key vendors. You will act as a strategic link between our team and the external IT provider to ensure staff receive timely and effective support. The role also includes evaluating new legal tech tools, assisting with rollouts and ensuring staff can confidently and effectively use the systems in place.
With a regular presence in both our Vancouver and Langley offices, the ideal candidate will be a people-oriented and tech-curious professional who is naturally drawn to mentorship and enjoys working across levels from new joiners to senior partners and wants to make meaningful improvements to how we learn, work and use technology. Your primary office can be in either of our two locations.
Depending on experience and knowledge, the core responsibilities of the role will be, but not limited to:
- Deliver onboarding and applications training for all new hires along with user set ups
- Develop and deliver effective training programs across core firm applications as well as regulatory compliance; assessing training needs, creating curriculum and conducting training sessions
- Act as the primary liaison with our external IT provider, coaching staff on how to get support effectively when needed and only escalating when necessary, not functioning as a substitute
- Manage relationships with our key software providers – tracking license renewals, changes and upgrades; manage procurement of new IT hardware
- Work with the Managing Director to research, test, help roll-out new tech solutions (including emerging AI-based solutions) and drive adoption
- Assist the Managing Director in the day-to-day management of IT projects and initiatives, including providing administrative, logistics and project related support
- Support the Managing Director in the preparation and management of the annual IT budget
- Assist with user account setups, lawyer office moves and offboarding
- Champion and support process improvements working in collaboration with legal teams
- Build strong working relationships across all levels of the firm
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant, Paralegal or similar support role in a law firm setting
- A natural and enthusiastic mentor with a passion for teaching others and making tech more accessible; you are the kind of person that colleagues turn to when they are stuck or want to learn something new
- Proficiency with technologies such as Microsoft 365, iManage Work 10 and Acumin along with a high degree of comfort in learning new tools
- Excellent organization and attention to detail with the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities
- Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence – you can work with all levels of the firm with professionalism and approachability
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Flexibility to work from both Vancouver and Langley offices based on business needs
Compensation:
The typical salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000. The base pay offered may vary depending on job-related skills/knowledge, experience, and internal and market equity.
Work Environment:
- This is a full-time position based out of our Vancouver and Langley office
- The role requires the successful applicant to work 5 days a week Monday-Friday (35 hours a week; 7 hours a day with 1 hour unpaid lunch)
