Employee Retention Through Building Better Bosses – Why Psychological Safety is The #1 Conversation Law Firm Leaders Need to Be Having
Ask any law firm leader their most pressing issues, and “attracting and retaining top talent” will be on their list. The future of work (which is here now) looks much different than the workplaces many of us have become accustomed to – command and control leadership is out, connection and collaboration is in. Did you know that up to 70% of employee engagement is based on a person’s direct manager? The writing is on the wall – competitive salaries, benefits and perks will only go so far. If you want to retain your top talent, you have to make your workplace “sticky”. And the best way to do that is to build better bosses – bosses who understand and connect to fundamental human needs.
The challenge AND opportunity? This style of leadership has not been modelled to all, nor does it come naturally to everyone. Please join us for a discussion on psychological safety, which has been deemed to be the #1 driver of team effectiveness, and critical to employee retention, engagement, inclusion and belonging. In this session you will learn what psychological safety is and is not, and how to start building more of it, in yourself and within your firm.
Our speaker will be Megan McAllister, a Professional Coach and Leadership Development Facilitator who has extensive experience leading Human Resources as part of national and international law firm teams. Megan’s presentation will be filled with research from credible resources and “stories from the field” in her years of working inside and outside of legal.
