Join us virtually on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 12:00PM – 1:15PM PST where presenter and founder of The Lawyer Coach (TLC), Allison Wolf will discuss various topics on coaching and advising lawyers on business development.

Coaching and advising lawyers on business development is most effective when the advisor or coach has a solid grounding in the tried and tested strategies essential for successful business development initiatives.

In this seventy-five-minute presentation, Allison Wolf, will share her go-to strategies along with practical examples of these applied to legal practice.

Participants will be introduced to:

  • The trusted advisor’s approach to business development
  • The ladder of relationships
  • The getting found vs finding framework
  • Splash strategies
  • The run-a-dash approach to moving plans forward

Participants will also be introduced to the “rainmaker turn off” and how to approach business development conversations with lawyers who may initially be reluctant to engage.

About the Speaker

Allison Wolf

Allison Wolf, PCC, founder of The Lawyer Coach (TLC), is one of Canada’s most senior coaches for lawyers. In May this year, she celebrates her 20th year as a coach Certified by the International Coaching Federation.

Allison’s life work is helping lawyers flourish in legal practice. Her clients come from across Canada and the U.S. She has clocked over two thousand hours coaching lawyers from all sizes of firms, practice areas, and career stages.

Before coaching, Allison worked for over a decade as an in-house legal marketing and business development professional for law firms of all sizes and scope: the Beijing, New York and Washington D.C. offices of an international law firm, a national Canadian firm, and two large regional firms. She is a recognized legal marketing and business development expert, frequently writing for U.S. and Canadian legal journals and presenting to professional associations and law firms. She is a former President of the Legal Marketing Association Vancouver Chapter.

She is also the founder of AMP (Associate Mentoring Plus), an innovative year-long program offering junior lawyers a constellation of support with coaching, mentoring, education, and community. This year, the program has been adopted by CLEBC, with Allison serving as Chair.

Allison is passionate about being a force for positive change and is motivated by the mission of transforming the practice of law for the better.
