Clark Wilson LLP seeks a Commercial Litigation Paralegal to join our busy practice group. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in commercial litigation and be a team player who is client-focused, organised, and able to work independently. This position is ideal for anyone wanting to join a firm that takes pride in having a collaborative working atmosphere where growth, professional development, and teamwork are supported. The ideal candidate will be available to work on-site during regular business hours with some flexibility.
What You'll Be Doing
- drafting pleadings, mediation briefs, and application materials;
- reviewing, summarising, and organising documents;
- preparing lists of documents;
- preparing and organizing materials for expert reports;
- preparing for examinations for discovery, applications, and trial, and
- liaising with legal assistants, paralegals, lawyers, and clients on file progress.
How You Will Be a Great Fit For This Role
- graduate of a recognised Paralegal program;
- at least five years of recent experience working as a litigation paralegal, primarily in the area of commercial litigation or a similar practice area;
- the ability to confidently manage a litigation file from start to finish;
- hands-on experience with e-discovery document management software including, Ipro Eclipse and Relativity;
- thorough knowledge and understanding of the BC Civil Rules and court practices and procedures;
- strong technical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, and BC Online;
- excellent organisational skills and attention to detail;
- the ability to prioritise a high volume of tasks and competing priorities;
- a client-centered approach with the commitment to providing outstanding service, and
- the ability to follow instructions and adhere to strict deadlines.
