Join us for our annual BCLMA HR Subsection Employment Law Update, featuring a BC focused overview of key employment law developments from the past year and what they mean for law firm employers in practice.
The session and may cover topics such as the new ESA sick-note rules, contracts and policies, dismissals, accommodation and workplace investigations. The emphasis will be on practical, real-world guidance, rather than a purely academic review.
There will be time for questions, and participants will leave with concrete guidance they can apply right away in their firms.
Presenter: Richard Johnson, Â CPHR, is a Co Founder and Partner at in Vancouver and Kelowna. He practises exclusively in employment and human rights law and works with both employers and employees, which gives him a balanced perspective on workplace issues. Richard is known for his practical, solutions focused approach to complex and high conflict employment matters. He also holds an Advanced Certificate in Workplace Investigations from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University and has extensive experience conducting and guiding workplace investigations. In addition to his practice, Richard serves on the Board of Directors of the Lawyers Assistance Program of British Columbia.
