Maryanne joined the Lawyers Indemnity Fund in 2015. She is Director of Risk Management and oversees the program’s risk management initiatives. This includes presenting risk management strategies to the legal profession through notices, risk management videos, e-briefs, articles, and presentations. In addition, Maryanne serves as Claims Counsel, handling and defending claims reported under the compulsory professional liability indemnity program. Prior to joining LIF, Maryanne spent nearly a decade as senior legal counsel to RIM (BlackBarry). Before RIM, she worked as a litigator in downtown Vancouver, primarily in construction, creditors’ remedies, and commercial disputes.
