WHAT YOU WILL DO
You will be responsible for:
- Opening and closing files;
- Drafting correspondence and legal documents;
- Scheduling trial and examination dates;
- Conducting conflict searches;
- Conducting various BC online and LTSA searches;
- Preparing application records;
- Preparing affidavits;
- Drafting a list of documents;
- Filing documents in court registry;
- Maintaining the calendar of the assigned lawyer;
- Managing the bring forward system;
- Reviewing and preparing invoices;
- Sorting incoming mail and preparation of outgoing mail; and
- Scanning, photocopying, filing, and other administrative tasks as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- The Legal Administrative Assistant certification from an accredited post-secondary institution;
- 2+ years of experience in ICBC
- The ability to handle a high volume of work and meet tight deadlines;
- Strong working knowledge of court rules and procedures;
- A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications;
- Strong attention to detail; and
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
