The Position
We are seeking a staff accountant to assist in the financial operations of the Firm. As a key member of our team, the staff accountant will support the accounting department in the day-to-day operations of the firm, including but not limited to, trust accounting, bank reconciliations, posting disbursements, and assisting with internal billing.
The successful candidate will be required to develop strong and effective working relationships with staff, clients, community stakeholders, and vendors while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or related field is preferred.
• Working towards a professional accounting designation (CPA) preferred.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency in office software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, QuickBooks, BC Online, MyLTSA, BC Registry, and legal practice management software (PC Law).
• Knowledge of the legal industry practices and regulations including legal trust accounting is preferred.

Compensation
Our salary range for this position is $50,000 to $70,000 based on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package including extended health, dental coverage, and a health spending account.
