Lawson Lundell LLP is seeking an Accounting Articling Student to join our Vancouver office. This position is ideal for someone pursuing the CPA designation and looking to gain valuable experience in a professional environment. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, hardworking individual who is eager to contribute to our Accounting Department. The regular working hours for this role are Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm.

Standard Responsibilities

  • Perform month end tasks including posting journal entries and preparing financial reports
  • Reconcile Bank, Trust, and Credit Card Statements
  • Respond to Lawyer and Legal Assistant inquiries
  • Data and Cost Entry
  • Cash Receipt Entry
  • Preparing A/R Reports
  • Assisting in preparing and sending Reminder Statements to Clients
  • Updating Client Contacts
  • General Filing
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a professional environment is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and solve problems in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Pro-active and service oriented approach is a must
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The typical salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal and market equity.
