THE ROLE:
The successful candidate will work with our Corporate Paralegal and other paralegals on a variety of corporate records-related tasks involving private companies. This is a full-time in-office position, with the potential to work from home one day a week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting with the preparation of annual resolutions and annual reports for BC companies, federal corporations and extra-provincial corporations, including filing reports online.
- Compiling and organizing virtual minute books.
- Assisting with filing, scanning, handling client correspondence and other administrative duties.
- Annual maintenance billing.
- Completion of legal audit letters.
- Dealing directly with clients on corporate inquiries and coordinating communications with clients, other law firms, agents and others.
- Administrative support to paralegals and lawyers on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters.
- Light administrative support, including 2–4 hours of weekly reception coverage
KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least one year of office experience (experience in a law firm is an asset).
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a high-performing, friendly and mutually supportive team setting.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, prioritize and manage multiple assignments.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications.
- Ability to adopt new software applications.
- Legal administrative assistant certification is a plus.
SALARY EXPECTATIONS:
- $50,000 - $65,000 annually, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal/market equity.
