We are currently recruiting for a Legal Administrative Assistant with at least 3 years of experience. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday (8.30am to 4.30pm). Employment and Labour experience is preferred however, recent commercial litigation is a suitable substitute.

Responsibilities:

  • Drafting legal documents, pleadings and correspondence
  • Management of files from opening to closing including filing, file organization, tracking and filing email correspondence
  • Ability to diarize dates independently with respect to client files and practice management, maintenance of a lawyer's calendar and a reliable bring forward (BF) system
  • Preparation of monthly accounts and expense reports
  • Coordination of lawyer's administrative tasks and marketing initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of legal procedures and documentation
  • Recent commercial litigation experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Advanced knowledge of working with MS Teams and One Drive
  • Advanced knowledge of a document management program
  • Excellent composition, grammar, spelling, and editing skills
  • Communicates professionally with clients, co-workers and other parties
  • Ability to balance and prioritize a substantial workload and handle routine tasks with little supervision
  • L.A. Certificate or equivalent work experience
