General & Estate Litigation Paralegal

14-Month Maternity Leave Contract | October, 2026 to December, 2027

THE ROLE

This is a hands-on paralegal position offering exposure to a broad mix of legal work. You will support lawyers across a variety of practice areas including, but not limited to, general civil, estates, personal injury, and employment litigation. We are seeking an organized and adaptable professional who enjoys variety, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is comfortable managing diverse files and competing priorities.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Review and organization of file materials.
  • Preparation of initial pleadings including Notices of Civil Claim, Responses, List of Documents, Application material and Affidavits.
  • Drafting and maintenance of file information summaries and chronologies.
  • Analysis of wills, trusts, financial statements, and other key documents.
  • Tracking of deadlines and procedural requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Assisting lawyers with discovery, mediation, and trial preparation.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful completion of an accredited Paralegal program.
  • 7+ years of experience working in estate and general litigation (plaintiff and defendant orientated)
  • Strong technical skills including proficiency with Word and Outlook. Experience with iManage and Soluno would be considered a bonus
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also having a flexible, accommodating, and team-oriented attitude.
  • A client-centred approach with a commitment to providing outstanding service.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills and the ability to follow instructions.

Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 (commensurate with experience)
